MY
ART REFLECTS MY LIFE
I was born in Queensland, Australia and educated at Somerville House, Brisbane
and I am a graduate in Fashion Design from the Brisbane College of Art (Queensland
University of Technology). In the 1960's and 70's, I was a designer of Haute
Couture and Theatre Costume Designer for Brisbane Arts Theatre. In 1976 I won
the prestigious Queensland Designer of the Year Award. I have won many awards
and acclaim as a fashion designer and author/illustrator of the 'Sunny Solar'
series of children's books. My passion for colour, form and design are evident
in all my art today.
I then spent many enjoyable years being totally consumed and satisfied with
my role as wife and mother. I now enjoy living and working in my studio at
beautiful Noosa North Shore. Here I am surrounded by acres of lily ponds, abundant
bird life, kilometres of unspoiled beaches, peace and tranquility - and the
time to be creative.
From our base at Noosa, my husband, Bruce, and I enjoy travelling the world.
The differences and similarities observed over the years have helped to define
a clearer perception of my own culture and a better understanding of humankind.
Our travels have become the catalyst for numerous exhibitions and my art is
now about my own continuing journey - a journey I hope you will share and enjoy.
