Born in Adelaide, Belinda Herford started her artistic career as fashion designer in Adelaide and Melbourne in the mid 80s. One of her high points in the fashion industry was being presented with the Australian Gown of the Year award in Melbourne 1986. Since then, Belinda successfully designed her own clothing range in Adelaide and furthered her design portfolio studying a fashion design course in Sydney in 1994.
Belinda has also studied and practised photography over the last five years and she also has a flair for interior decorating.
A self-taught artist, Belinda began painting in Coolum in 2000 and has subsequently sold many of her works in Sydney and on the Sunshine Coast.
" I have a few different styles and I love experimenting with technique, colour, pattern and texture. I have a deep affinity for native and tribal and I enjoy creating patterns with dots."
" I can get inspired by just about anything natural or aesthetic and often walk around looking at lines, textures and the small simplicities of nature for the purpose of extracting something from it I can paint."
Moving from Sydney to Noosa in May 2003 with her husband Gordon, has provided a wonderful environment in which to create and they now call Noosa home.
